These terms explain the rules for using The Frontline website, sending us news, subscribing and advertising.
1. Using this website
By using thefrontlinezw.com you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. You may read, share links to, and print stories for your own personal, non-commercial use.
2. Our content
Stories, photos, videos and designs published by The Frontline belong to The Frontline or the people who licensed them to us. You may not copy, republish or sell our full stories or photos without our written permission. Short quotations with a credit and a link back to the original are welcome.
You may not use automated tools to copy (“scrape”) the site in bulk, or try to interfere with or gain unauthorised access to it or the newsroom dashboard.
3. Headlines from other outlets
Our Zimbabwe Wire and section pages show headlines, short summaries and preview photos from other news organisations, always credited and linked to the original. That content belongs to those outlets and they are responsible for it. Illustrative photos are used under their licences, credited on our About page.
4. Accuracy and corrections
We work hard to be accurate, fair and responsible, but we can't guarantee that everything on the site is complete or up to date. If you spot a mistake, please tell us, and we will correct significant errors promptly.
5. Sending us news
When you send us news, tips or photos through Send us news, you confirm that:
- the information is true to the best of your knowledge;
- you took any photo yourself, or have the right to share it; and
- it is not unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or an unfair invasion of anyone's privacy.
You keep ownership of what you send. You give The Frontline a free, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to verify, edit, publish and share it in any of our channels, with credit to you unless you asked to stay anonymous. We decide what to publish and may not use every submission. Please never put yourself or others in danger to get a story.
6. Subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are not yet live, and no payment is currently taken. When they launch, the price, billing period and how to cancel will be shown clearly before you pay, and those details will form part of these terms.
7. Advertising
Adverts are clearly labelled and are the responsibility of the advertiser. We review adverts and may refuse any that are misleading, unlawful or that could compromise our editorial independence. Advertisers cannot influence our journalism. Advertising arrangements are agreed separately with each advertiser.
8. Jobs, weather and sports listings
Job vacancies are gathered from other job sites and link to the original listing. We don't check every employer. Apply only through official channels, and never pay anyone to be considered for a job.
Weather forecasts and sports results come from third-party data providers and are for general information only. For official weather warnings, follow the Meteorological Services Department of Zimbabwe.
9. Links to other websites
We link to other websites, including news outlets, job sites and advertisers. We aren't responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.
10. Our responsibility to you
We provide the site “as is”. As far as the law allows, The Frontline is not liable for losses caused by relying on information on the site, by the site being unavailable, or by third-party content, adverts or listings. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Zimbabwean law that cannot be excluded.
11. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. We may update them from time to time; the “last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
